WHAT’S YOUR QUARANTINE GOAL?

QUARANTINE……I bet a couple of months back, the majority of us never knew that such a word exists in the dictionary. Undoubtedly, this word is leaving an extreme benchmark in the world of words! Quarantine was like an unwelcomed guest in our lives but in the true sense, it was the guest we needed! Am I sounding crazy? Maybe or maybe not!

Until this year, all of us were true evidence of the rapidly moving and fast-paced living, where people have so much on their plate that they were compromising their personal life. We were so involved in fulfilling worldly commitments that we were compromising or ignoring our self-commitments. There were many for whom 24hrs a day was never enough! They surely needed a BREAK!


To some extent, am I the only one who is thankful for the quarantine period? I mean did anyone else feel that this world could be slow-paced too, that being on house arrest is an actual bliss! Also, did anyone notice when was the last time your WhatsApp family group was so active and flooded with chit-chats, that you were receiving quick replies to texts, that video calls were ever that interesting?


Surely, it took a few days for all of us to get adjusted to this quarantine period but a couple of weeks later we made it into a regular routine. I mean it is so comfortable to work from home in your pajamas, to enjoy your coffee with that unfinished book of yours, to relive your childhood days and play those indoor games with your siblings, to bake your own birthday cake, to reconnect with people you barely had time for, and more importantly, to give time to your own self.


Initially, I was fed up with hearing from people that quarantine is boring, but people please understand that - Quarantine is Self Time.

Surely, I was in this boredom phase too, but with the purpose of keeping myself busy and distracted, I came up with a couple of quarantine goals, which I will complete in these amazing quarantine days! My goals might be silly or interesting but they are on my list now and I will surely accomplish them. For e.g. cooking a new recipe, finishing a pile of books, watching my list of Netflix shows, learning something new through online courses, etc.

Gradually, I am enjoying finishing my list and moreover I can feel the evolution in me and my mindset. Distancing from the outside world and people is giving me a good mind space to think about many other areas of life both emotionally and socioeconomically. Not to forget, I am actually making some savings too!


So sit down and think what is it that you want to accomplish in this quarantine? What recipe do you want to try? Which book do you want to give a read? Which new hobby do you want to try your luck with? Which household errands you want to invest your time in? Which series and movies are yet to be enjoyed by you? Indeed, there are so many ‘what’ and ‘which’ we have to find answers to!


Focus on making the best out of this quarantine! Learn more about yourself, your calibers, your interests, your duties, your favorite things, and your future goals!
